Lara Manara is no stranger to the Maltese art scene and has always been passionate about the arts. She has contributed works to local and foreign exhibitions, ranging from drawings and paintings to photography and videography to soundscapes and installations.

Having completed her Bachelor in Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts in Digital Arts, Lara continually grows and refines her artistic capabilities. She has been teaching Art and design for ten years academically as well as privately, eager to share her knowledge and learn from those around her.

Her work typically takes a critical view on social and cultural issues – the nature of which often depends upon the space within which it is viewed as she attempts to include the viewer as the central element. Lara brings into question their role as spectator, subject, or performer while also bringing her personal experiences into consciousness. Her latest work delves into the philosophy of consciousness, temporality, and phenomenology, adopting a multidisciplinary approach that combines digital arts, science, philosophy, and personal meditative practices to assist her contemporary artistic creations.
